This week, we’re laying the foundation for the entire study by asking a powerful question:

What is stewardship?

For many women, the word “stewardship” has been tied to church tithes or budgets. But biblically speaking, stewardship is far deeper and far more personal. It’s about recognizing that everything we own—our money, our time, our homes, even our second chances—is not ours. It belongs to the Lord. Stewardship is the duty and responsibility of Christians to manage and utilize the gifts that God has given them. A steward must be faithful, trustworthy, and wise in serving the Lord and benefiting others with their gifts.

We are caretakers. He is the Owner. And He is watching with joy to see what we will do with the small things He has placed in our hands.

You don’t need a financial degree to be a good steward of your finances. You don’t need a fat bank account or a stock portfolio. You need a willing heart and a desire to walk in wisdom.

That means how you handle your retirement check, your grocery money, or even that unexpected $20 in your coat pocket—it all matters. There’s no such thing as “too little” when it comes to stewardship in the kingdom of God.

Whether you’re navigating retirement, living on Social Security, or starting fresh in your 50s and beyond, know this: it’s not too late to grow. It’s not too late to learn. And it’s certainly not too late to be faithful.

This Week’s Scripture Reading:
(Feel free to open your Bible and read these slowly. Let the truth settle.)

Luke 16:10 – “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…”
Proverbs 31:16 – “She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.”
1 Corinthians 4:2 – “Moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

Reflection: Small Things Matter

We often think of stewardship as involving significant responsibilities. But in the kingdom of God, the little things are where faithfulness is proven.

Are you willing to look at your finances—even the little parts—and say, “Lord, how can I honor You here?”

Whether it’s two mites or two hundred thousand dollars, the principle is the same. You’ve been entrusted. Now you’re invited to grow.

Stewardship Self-Check (Journal Prompt):
