God's Medicine Cabinet

God's Medicine Cabinet

Faith-Based Rhythms of Health and Wholeness for Women 50+

"She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness."

Proverbs 31:26 (KJV)

There’s a sacred stillness that begins to settle over a woman’s life as she enters her fifties and beyond. It’s not the quiet of giving up—it’s the quiet of tuning in.

Tuning into your body.
Tuning into the Spirit.
Tuning out the noise of culture’s quick fixes and empty promises.

In a world obsessed with instant results, strict regimens, and ever-changing health fads, there is wisdom in returning to what is true and eternal. God never rushed healing. He called for a rest. He invited His people to remember. And He gave us tools—natural and spiritual—to sustain us through every season.

God’s medicine cabinet doesn’t come in shiny packaging. It looks more like:

  • A cup of chamomile tea steeped at the close of a long day
  • A quiet hour with your Bible open, your heart stilled
  • Gentle movement that honors the body, not punishes it
  • A nourishing meal offered with gratitude
  • A whispered prayer for peace that doesn’t come from a bottle

These are not outdated habits—they are timeless rhythms given to us by a wise and loving Creator.

Rhythms that Heal: What God Offers

Rest
God doesn’t glorify exhaustion. From the very beginning, He modeled rest. After six days of creation, He paused. And He asks us to do the same. For women in their Second Act, rest becomes less of a luxury and more of a necessity. It’s in the resting that the body repairs, the mind resets, and the Spirit speaks.

Scripture
God’s Word is not just a source of wisdom—it’s medicine to the soul. Proverbs 4:22 says, “For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.” A daily dose of the Word can calm anxiety, strengthen faith, and remind you who you are in Christ.

Prayer
In your fifties and beyond, you may not be rushing around like you once were, but the burdens may be heavier—grown children, aging parents, and personal health battles. Prayer is where you drop every weight and trust God to carry what you can no longer.

Natural Remedies
Herbs, essential oils, fresh air, stillness—these are not “alternative” approaches. They are an original design. The garden was God’s first pharmacy. Using what He created, in its purest form, is one way we say: Lord, I trust what You’ve already given.

A Word for the Titus 2 Woman

You are no longer a beginner. You are a bearer of wisdom. And you are needed now more than ever.

The younger women around you are watching. They want to know how to live well, stay grounded, and age with grace and strength. Your steady example can speak louder than any trend.

Teach them that rest is holy.
That food can be a form of worship.
That prayer is the best therapy.
That the Word is a better guide than any YouTube video.

Your body may feel different now. Your energy may dip. But your influence? It's rising. And so is your calling to walk in the wholeness God designed.

“That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”
— Titus 2:4-5 (KJV)
